Newspaper Publishes Offensive Facebook Post

Journalism is a tough business.  Reporters, editors, photographers, producers, and so many others work hard day in and day out to put out a quality product.  Words and images are chosen carefully, and facts are delicately presented to show a fair and objective account of the day’s news.  In smaller markets especially, there is a constant effort to earn and maintain the trust of the audience through tasteful reporting.

Rochester: A Tale of Two Cities

My jaw dropped a bit earlier this week when I read an article in the Democrat and Chronicle titled “Cuomo: Rochester hasn’t looked this good in decades.”  The governor made the comment during a meeting with the newspaper’s editorial board.  He was in town to announce 500 high-tech jobs coming to the area thanks to a new SUNY nanotechnology initiative. Rochester’s Rundel Library is one of those grand buildings that many people living in this city have seen or driven past, but may have never actually set foot inside it.  While nothing short of an in-person visit can do it justice, the Rochester Public Library has released a new video that provides a taste of Rundel’s many unique architectural features.
