
It’s been a while since I last played a video game. Like 15 years. It’s not that I don’t like them. I used to have a blast playing Mario Kart and Beetle Adventure Racing on my N64. But somewhere along the way gaming just kind of fell off my radar.

It’s been a while since I last played a video game. Like 15 years. It’s not that I don’t like them. I used to have a blast playing Mario Kart and Beetle Adventure Racing on my N64. But somewhere along the way gaming just kind of fell off my radar.
We all remember the elementary school horror of having to play the recorder in music class. I can still feel the excitement building as friends in other classes carried the slim vinyl cases down the hall. The recorders were in. Soon we would get our very own to take home and play – just one more day until music class.

Thank God my mother reads the obituaries. It’s something I really need to get into the habit of doing. It was in the paper a few weeks ago that we learned our neighbor had passed away. We hadn’t seen him in more than a year; he had been in a nursing home after suffering a fall. During a walk around the block this weekend I saw his sister sitting on his front steps.
